This Christmas in Coffee D

I feel blessed, for spending my Christmas with my dearest girl friend. We went to a newly opened cafe in Alor Setar, Kedah. The cafe is not too big, but enough to have a bash, or a cosy gathering there. =)

Tiny space inside the cafe, with elegant European style decoration, feeling warm and cosy=)

The variety of cakes is just fine, but at least they have my favourite mille crepe there. We ordered a Rainbow Mille Crepe and a Chocolate Indulgence. Taste of the cakes are moderate, and Chocolate Indulgence slightly sweeter than enough. And of course, some light snacks for girls talk=D Fried Calamari Rings. Here comes my favourite seafood =DD

I've missed my besties for long enough! We had a really nice talk there, and meanwhile, Dorene met up with us too along with a friend from Malacca, Jonathan. Welcome to Kedah! =DD There is a HUGE Teddy Bear there for the customers to take nice photos. That bum bum is really heavy! Gotta waste some effort to catch it straight up to take photo with it.

Throwback : Memories of MK1M 2014

Malam Kebudayaan 1Malaysia (MK1M) 2014 presented by Tiong Hua Club of UKM Kolej Pendeta Za'ba (KPZ) was held on 9th of December at DAM, UKM. This event was to promote the uniqueness and variety of multi-racial culture of Malaysia. The members of Tiong Hua Club prepared and practiced a lot to make the event a successful one. Need not to mention how many sleepless night everyone went through to make the performance better, even the seniors whom already graduated came back to assist and help us in making the preparation.

The specialities of MK1M 2014 included of the food booths,which were set up outside DAM. The food booths invited were selling a variety of food. Seems delicioussss, but the crew of the event were disallowed to buy food from the booths. There goes my food paradise T_T

About one hour before the event started, the protocol members were lining outside the hall to await the arrival of VIP, which is the owner of NJ Zenith Restaurant, YBhg. Datin Haslinda Sim Abdullah and the Pengetua KPZ, YBhg. Prof. Madya Dr.Ahmad Sunawari Long.

Opening ceremony which was done by applying the roof on the house model, the ceremony of lighting the house of unity.

The performances of that night were the traditional dances from different races, fashion show of traditional costumes from different races and lastly, the stage drama presented by the junior members of the Tiong Hua Club from UKM KPZ.

The dance crew which was invited by us to perform Kpop culture, which is popularly spreaded throughtout the nation=)

The winners from the photo contest of MK1M also received their prizes, followed by the lucky draw session.

Artist of the night who was invited is Hanz, a talented song composer from Malaysia, who has a plan to launch his new album soon. Two songs which was performed by him is 'Love You Like A Love Song' slow version by Selena Gomez and 'Forever Love' by LeeHom. 

The last performance was the stage performance. Comedy stage drama presented by the junior members of Tiong Hua Club of KPZ. The story was nice and funny, which is about a superhero who escaped to a village to seek for inner peace, however some murder cases happened there and he realised the village was actually crowded with a lot more famous superhero other than him. Special thanks to the actors of the drama, whom spent many nights practising the drama and dedicated a lot in having this great performance.

The event ended up with the famous motivation song 'Gemuruh'. Everyone was enjoying the event and although we spent many time to prepare and practice the performances, and all the members had to run around to find sponsorship for the event. We enjoyed ourselves a lot and definitely looking forward for the comeback of this event in 2015! Stay tuned ya! =D

Miss Kedah 2014 Contest - Final Round

Not gonna blog about the events I've attended along this contest, because I don't really gathered a lot of photos. So, lets jump to the final round as well haha~

Then its the final round! It fell on the 11th of July, at the Bali Bali Hai Cafe in my hometown, Alor Setar. All the contestant had to gather there at 11 am sharp for rehearsal and all the makeup and hairdo for the contest. Early in the morning I had to wake up to jog and prepare this and that to be brought along with me to the contest, so tireddddddd.

The makeup artist started to do our makeup at 1pm, and she started to apply bunch of base cream or powder all over my face. Not really used to that lololol, because I'm not one that always do makeups in my daily life

Kinda look weird here, the whole face is the same colour haha, looks so flat.

I sat on the chair for almost 2 hours, just to wait for my makeup and hairdo done. Specially thanks to my makeup artist, a very kind aunty=) And also the hair stylist, for their hard work to complete my entire look=)

Believe it or not, this is my first time wearing a cheongsam. We had to introduce ourselves and had a catwalk at the first round. Quite nervous that time, luckily I still manage to complete the introduction and catwalk smoothly. The other contestants also look good in their cheongsam and samfoo, elegant look for the first round=)

At the second round, we had to wear the dinner dress. I got a really red dress, but it doesn't look bad on me, just a little bit loose at the abdomen part. 

On the way going to the stage, I met my friends! Thanks for being supportive^_^

After the second round of catwalk, it's time for the subtitles awards. There are awards like Miss Elegant, Miss Photogenic, Miss Perfect Skin and Miss Popularity. Subtitles are never for me lololol, especially Miss Photogenic as I'm actually quite not photogenic hahahaha.

Then, the judges had to choose the Top 5 to enter the final Q and A session. The first and second girl being called are my friend, Albee and Coco. Congrats to them, both are my friends since we joined the last pageant contest organised by the YMM in 2013.

The next one being called is me! Yay Number 9~and the next girl Wen Wen too, friends with me since we joined the YMM pageant contest in 2013. The fifth girl is a new friend, but she had joined plenty of pageant contest before, Elis, which has a charming smile.

During the Q & A session, every contestants are required to choose an envelope which contains the question paper inside. The question will then passed to the emcee directly and read out aloud to the audience and judges. Every contestant will be given 3 seconds to think properly and answer it in front of the T stage.

The question I got was: What is you and your best friend fell in love with the same guy, how would you handle this situation?

Well this is a tough one, but still relationships involve two individual, eventually we have to concern about the guy's choice as well. We cannot be selfish though. And I don't mind if he likes my friends instead of me, I will really wish them a blissful love life. So I answered as what I think, with some nice but not too bombastic words.

Then there comes the result. After waiting for around 20 minutes, we gathered on the stage again to wait the result for being announced. The 5th place goes to Wen Wen, and she also awarded as Miss Gloria Jo as well, which is one of the sponsors subtitles award. The 4th place goes to Albee while the third place goes to Elis.

Finally, I'm in Top 2 now, together with Coco, we walked to the middle part of the stage. Both of us were exciting and being happy. The crowd were raising their voice as well, some of them took Coco's side and some was with me. Then the emcee announced the result. I was crowned! I won a pageant contest, for the first time! I saw my mum standing down there smiling at me. The moment, I felt really proud.

Probably is a once in a lifetime experience, cherish every moment=)

I made a lot of friends through this contest, because we went through photoshoot sessions, visiting the sponsors and charity events together. Hope we can come out and gather if we have time=))
